Cookie Policy
Effective date: April 4, 2026 · Last updated: April 4, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SocialNode.ai ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website and use our platform. By using the Service, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and provide a personalized experience. Cookies can be "session cookies" (which expire when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and browser fingerprinting, which serve analogous functions to cookies.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
| Type | Purpose | Examples | Can Disable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Authentication, session management, security | Clerk session token | No |
| Functional | UI preferences, dismissed banners | sn_bar_dismissed (localStorage) | Yes |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic and performance measurement | Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights | Yes |
| Third-Party | Payment processing, authentication | Stripe, Clerk | Partial |
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They include:
- Authentication cookies set by Clerk to maintain your logged-in session. Without these, you cannot access your dashboard or account features.
- Security cookies that help detect and prevent fraudulent use of your account.
- Load balancing cookies that ensure requests are routed correctly across our infrastructure.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent. However, you can disable them in your browser settings, which will prevent you from using the Service.
4. Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They include:
- Announcement bar preference — we store whether you have dismissed the site announcement banner so it does not reappear on every visit. This is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key
sn_bar_dismissed. - UI preferences — remembering your dashboard view settings and tab selections between sessions.
5. Analytics Cookies
We use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve the Service. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. The tools we currently use or may use include:
- Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-first analytics provided by Vercel that collects aggregated page view data without personally identifiable information.
- Vercel Speed Insights — measures real-world performance metrics to help us improve page load times.
We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics platforms that track individual users across multiple websites.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some features of our Service rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies:
- Clerk — sets cookies to manage authentication sessions. See Clerk's Privacy Policy for details.
- Stripe — may set cookies related to payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
We do not control the cookies set by these third parties and recommend reviewing their respective privacy and cookie policies.
7. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- localStorage. You can clear localStorage data through your browser's developer tools or settings.
- Opt-out tools. Some third-party services offer opt-out mechanisms directly on their platforms.
Note that disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service, including logging in and maintaining your session.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. Our Service currently does not alter its behavior in response to DNT signals, as there is no established industry standard for how to respond to such requests. We continue to monitor developments in this area.
9. Cookie Duration
The cookies we set have the following approximate lifespans:
- Session cookies — expire when you close your browser tab or window
- Authentication cookies — typically persist for 7–30 days depending on your session settings
- Preference cookies (localStorage) — persist until you clear your browser data or we update the key
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the updated policy with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after the updated effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
